When digitizing machines and systems, it is important to strike a balance between comprehensive data acquisition and avoiding excessive network load. This is where Autonoma's latest feature comes into play: the On-Change Trigger feature. This innovative feature promises to fundamentally reduce the amount of data collected from networked machines by enabling intelligent, on-demand data transfer.

On-Change Trigger: A milestone for data transmission

The newly introduced On-Change feature improves data transmission in Autonoma's digital customer platform. Previously, data points were sent at fixed intervals, for example every five seconds. With the on-change feature, the local data connector now reacts automatically to value changes. This leads to a significant reduction in the amount of data transmitted, especially if measured values or the machine status do not change over a longer period of time.

Jitter avoidance through delta value

A common problem when monitoring machine values is the jittering (flickering) of numerical values. Autonoma's digital customer platform now offers the option of defining a delta value. The new value is only sent if the data value changes by this significant value. This function prevents unnecessary data transmissions and ensures more efficient use of network resources.

Guaranteed data transmission through intervals

In addition to the on-change triggers, Autonoma allows you to define intervals for data transmission. Even if a value does not change over a longer period of time, a data point is sent after this interval has expired. This ensures that important data is updated regularly, even if only minor changes occur.

Conclusion

The upgrade of Autonoma's connectors represents a significant saving in data recording. Especially for mobile machines with transmission via GSM (3G, 4G, 5G), the on-change function offers a considerable reduction in data volumes and consequently a high savings potential.
