Owasys Edge Gateway - Ideal for mobile machines in harsh environments

We are expanding our hardware portfolio with another high-performance gateway: the owa5X from Owasys. This gateway is particularly suitable for mobile machines operating in demanding, harsh environments and offers numerous advantages.

Robust design for the toughest requirements

The Owasys gateway is characterized by its extreme robustness. With a protection class of IP67 / IP6K9K, the device offers complete protection against dust and can withstand high-pressure cleaning with steam. It is therefore ideal for use on mobile machines that are often exposed to extreme conditions, such as construction machinery, agricultural vehicles or commercial vehicles in logistics.

The high-quality antenna connectors ensure stable and powerful wireless communication, even in moving and difficult environments.

Advanced sensor technology and motion monitoring

Particularly noteworthy is the 6-axis sensor, which includes both an acceleration sensor (accelerometer) and an angular acceleration sensor (gyro sensor). These make it possible to detect precise movements and changes in the machine's position and react accordingly. The dead reckoning function also enables movements to be tracked even if GPS signals are lost, which can be a decisive advantage in remote or underground environments.

Safe operation even during power failures

The integrated Li-ion backup battery ensures that the system can continue to operate for a limited period of time even in the event of an unexpected power failure. In such a case, for example, the device can still automatically send an emergency signal via the mobile phone network and provide information about the status of the machine.

Versatile connections and communication

With up to 4 CAN-FD SIC and a large number of inputs and outputs, the gateway is ideally equipped for integration into existing machine control systems and sensor networks. The flexible communication interfaces such as RS232 and RS485 as well as the dual-mode Bluetooth 5.2 standard open up numerous possibilities for you as a machine manufacturer to seamlessly connect external devices and sensors. This versatility offers similar advantages to the already familiar Onlogic gateways but with a stronger focus on mobile and networked applications in harsh environments.
